Centenary Bank is set to host its annual women’s finance fair dubbed She Counts, a flagship initiative aimed at advancing financial inclusion and economic empowerment for women across Uganda.
The event will take place at Bamusu Sarovar Portico Hotel under the theme From Income to Influence: Building Wealth, Building Power. It is expected to convene women entrepreneurs, financial experts, policymakers, and development partners to explore pathways for strengthening women led enterprises.
Building on a Strong Foundation
The upcoming fair builds on the Bank’s 2025 Women’s Economic Empowerment Conference, which brought together a diverse network of stakeholders to champion inclusive and sustainable business growth.
Held under the theme Empowering Women Entrepreneurs for Sustainable Business Growth, the conference emphasized the critical role women play in driving Uganda’s economy. It also highlighted persistent structural barriers, including limited access to affordable finance, technology gaps, and restricted market access.

By hosting the She Counts fair, Centenary Bank seeks to transition from dialogue to action by providing practical solutions and opportunities that directly impact women entrepreneurs.
Expanding Access to Finance
A key highlight of the Bank’s women focused strategy is the Cente Supa Woman Grow Loan, a tailored financial product designed to support female entrepreneurs at different stages of business growth.
The loan facility offers subsidized interest rates and flexible collateral requirements, making it more accessible for women operating in micro, small, and medium sized enterprises. Its primary objective is to bridge the financing gap and enable women to scale their businesses sustainably.
Through such targeted interventions, Centenary Bank aims to transform informal businesses into structured enterprises capable of contributing more significantly to national economic development.
Leadership Commitment to Women Empowerment
The Managing Director of Centenary Bank, Fabian Kasi, recently reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to supporting women entrepreneurs through both financial and non financial solutions.
These include capacity building programs, mentorship initiatives, and networking platforms that enable women to share experiences and unlock new business opportunities.
“Dream boldly, leverage relationships, and embrace technology, collaboration, and continuous learning. For over four decades, Centenary Bank has been at the forefront of advancing financial inclusion,” Kasi noted, emphasizing the Bank’s longstanding role as a trusted partner for women led enterprises.
Strategic Partnerships Driving Impact
Centenary Bank’s efforts are further strengthened through its collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme, which focuses on promoting financial inclusion and economic empowerment in Uganda.
The partnership supports initiatives that enhance financial literacy, build confidence in financial systems, and expand access to funding particularly for women. Joint programs such as Women Uganda 2025+ underscore a shared commitment to inclusive growth and sustainable development.

A Platform for Influence and Growth
The She Counts Women’s Finance Fair is expected to serve not only as a networking hub but also as a catalyst for policy dialogue and innovation in women’s finance.
By aligning financial services with mentorship, skills development, and strategic partnerships, the initiative reflects a broader shift toward holistic empowerment where women are not only income earners but also influential economic actors.
As Uganda continues to prioritize inclusive economic transformation, initiatives like She Counts are likely to play a pivotal role in unlocking the full potential of women entrepreneurs and strengthening the country’s economic resilience.
