Ugandan music icon Bebe Cool is gearing up to release his long-awaited album, Break The Chains, on Friday, May 30th, 2025. The announcement, made during an energetic TikTok Live session with some of the country’s top content creators, marks a pivotal moment in the artist’s illustrious career.
First teased nearly two years ago, Break The Chains has been shrouded in anticipation, with fans eagerly awaiting Bebe Cool’s next move. This project signals a bold new direction for the celebrated singer, blending his unmistakable style with vibrant Afrobeats influences and deeper, more personal storytelling.
The album’s lead singles, Circumference and Motivation, have already offered listeners a taste of what to expect. Both tracks have been praised for their fresh sound, highlighting Bebe Cool’s willingness to evolve and step outside his comfort zone. Speaking during the TikTok session, Bebe Cool explained that this transformation is a conscious response to the rapidly changing African music landscape.
“Break The Chains is about cracking the glass ceiling to take Ugandan music to the table most local artists believe we are not welcome,” he said, emphasizing the need for Ugandan musicians to embrace risk and innovation.
For this ambitious project, Bebe Cool collaborated with a new wave of producers and rising stars, including Joshua Baraka, one of Uganda’s most promising young talents. By tapping into Uganda’s evolving Afrobeats sound, the singer hopes to inspire the next generation of artists to venture beyond traditional boundaries.
“Uganda has always missed out because artists who could have led the way are either too comfortable or too afraid to sail into the unknown,” Bebe Cool added.

Break The Chains follows the resounding success of Bebe Cool’s previous album Go Mama, which solidified his status as a continental powerhouse. Go Mama earned multiple nominations at prestigious platforms such as the MTV Africa Music Awards, Channel O Music Video Awards, and the Kora Awards. Its standout single, Love You Everyday, remains Uganda’s most exported song on Spotify, amassing over 5.5 million streams and 14 million views on YouTube.
As the countdown to May 30th intensifies, Bebe Cool promised that more surprises would be revealed in the days leading up to the release. The full Break The Chains album will be available on all major streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and YouTube Music.
